Chocolate walnut brownies

Ingredients

  • 150 grams butter
  • 1 cup cocoa powder
  • 4 eggs
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla essence
  • 3/4 cup pain flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 packet white choc bits
  • Method

    1. Preheat the oven to 160 degrees. Line the base of a 27 x 18cm tin with baking paper.
    2. Melt the butter and stir in the cocoa powder, allow to cool slightly.
    3. Beat in the eggs then stir in the sugar and vanilla.
    4. Sift flour and baking powder together. Add to the mixture and stir until thoroughly mixed. Stir through the white choc bits.
    5. Pour mixture into the prepared tin and bake in preheated oven for 45-50 minutes or until just firm in the centre.
    6. Leave in the tin for 20 minutes to cool slightly before cutting.

    Substitute

    You can replace the white choc bits with walnuts or dark choc bits.
